The pros (and VERY few cons) of being homeschooled.

So as the title suggests, I am homeschooled.

And in case some people don't know what that means, it means instead of going to school like about half of the children in this country do, I sit at the kitchen table and learn. And everyone who is homeschooled is homeschooled for different reasons, and the same for some kids who go to school.

Take me and my brother for instance: I am homeschooled because when I was in pre-k, they wouldn't let me go straight to 1st grade because of my birthday (WHY couldn't my mom have given birth to me one month sooner!?!?!? WHY???????? :), and my mom had heard about homeschooling from some mom on my soccer team. So she thought, "Well, let's give it a try." And here I am, in ninth grade, still homeschooled. :) I love it. But my brother, on the otherhand, has to go to public school. He is autistic and my mom can't provide him with what he needs here at home. but if he wasn't, he would be at the kitchen table with me and my other little brother.

And it isn't for everyone; some people aren't smart enough to teach or they have kids like my one brother or they simply don't know it's an option or have all these preconceived notions like, "But those kids never get to socialize." or, "Those kids are so sheltered." LIES! ...Well, sort of. We DO get to socialize, almost more so than public schoolers, because we have more flexebility with our schedules/lives. ;D

Actually now that I think about it, I can't come up with any cons with homeschooling. Hmm.... Well, at least I got y'all thinking for a little bit. ;)

Now I am in the mood for some chips and guacamole. NOM. NOM. NOMNOMNOM. ALSO: I maybe start work tonight!!!!! :D Depending on whether or not the computer is working at the place.... Wait, I never told y'all about that, did I?

Well, the day we got that crazy storm here in Dallas with all those tornadoes, I went that morning for an interview to work at this restaurant. I got a job! :D And then the tornadoes and two weeks went by, and then last week I went to fill out paperwork! :D I know most people hate that, but I really really like filling stuff out. I'm weird like that. ;D So now I go in tonight for orientation. I AM SO FLIPPIN EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D I just hope the computer is fixed..

Snack time! :D

JEANS! XD

My parents are currently bickering about jeans she bought my dad. :P

It's so funny to watch parents sometimes, because honestly, they are SO FUNNY. Like how they work, what makes them tick.... the list goes on.

Like the other day; My grandmother was all stressed out, and my dad was like, "WTF is up with her?" (SIDE NOTE: ALL F'S MEAN FRICKEN OR BUCK. IF I AM GOING TO CUSS, YOU WILL KNOW AND IT WILL BE CENCORED. BACK TO THE BLOG. ;) And I was like, "She's all stressed. that's also why Grandpa has been in a mood. Kinda like you and Momma." And he was like, "WHAT?" And I told him about how when one of them is in a funk, so is the other one. It's cuz they love each other.

And then how they remember everything about everything about each other. Like how my mom always says that my dad used to sit by the phone when he got in trouble at school. And how his mom doesn't believe that. Parents are very interesting creatures. Although somehow I think us teenagers are the smart ones. or at the very least, the sane ones. ;D

And then, since this IS technically supposed to be a blog about life with an autistic child, something BIG happened today: My Blessing has gotten too big for goodnights. So now he has to wear, erm, adult-size pull-ups. And I was like, OMG I REEEEEEEEEEEEALY hope those things hold everything. Cuz before, the only thing that even began to, um, hold it all.

Sorry this is so gross!!!! But this is daily life for me: debating wether or not it is a good big deal or a bad big deal that my brother has to wear depends. Well, technically it Assure, but that isn't really the point, is it? The point is I started this blog to post what was REAL. and what daily life is like with someone like My Blessing.

Oh well. That really bummed me out. :( Well, leave a comment wether it is a good big deal or a bad big deal, and throw in something funny about your parents if you feel like it. to make me laugh. please? :)

Thanks.
